Why is the Bible Memory verse app free?

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  Matthew 6:19-21 (NASB)

With God’s help, I wrote this simple Bible Memory app to help me more easily learn scripture and regularly review bible verses I’m memorizing.  Getting to know my Savior, Jesus Christ, learning to let Him be Lord of my life, assembling together with other believers, these are the joys of my earthly life.

I hope you’ll find this free Christian app useful.  If it’s a blessing to you, please tell someone else about it.  If you didn’t like it, you’re happy that it was free.  Thank you for trying it out!

Either way, please feel welcome to email me any feedback about the app.  God bless you!

I’m trying to figure out how to do anything with the reminder feature. For 1 verse it is on an just increments daily. For the other verses it isn’t there at all. I see no controls or options for it. Sorry if this is a dumb user error.

The app should automatically manage the review date for each verse as you practice them.

Once you complete typing the verse (including the scripture reference), the app should display your accuracy. If it is 90% or higher, the app will assign a new review date for that particular verse.

For the one verse, the review date interval should be increasing the more days you successfully complete it. For the other verses, they should change to “Review in 1 day” the first time you successfully complete them.

If this isn’t working as expected, and you are using iCloud, it might be a temporary issue with the cloud service. Or, if you’re not online, the verses will automatically update once you have a Wi-Fi or cellular connection again.

Please let me know if that resolves the issue.

Note that a verse’s review date will only change once per success per day. You can practice a verse several times in a day, but the app really wants to test us on how well we remember a verse in the future.

I have grown to love this app. And review it daily and add new verses regularly. Verses that I want to learn that help me understand God’s Word better are memorized and I hope I’ll be able to recall If needed by God to witness, but one problem I’m having. Since the location of the verse is listed at the top I have not been memorizing the location of the verse which is also needed. Could you blank out the location (Ex. John 3:16) at the top to also help us memorize its location? I always tend to just look at the top and fill that in. Thanks

Love this app! Been using it for over two years. I am trying to memorize Galatians 2:20 in ESV version but it is coming up as the Message translation. Could you fix this bug, please? Thank you!

I’m having the same issue that Jessica is having — I want to memorize scripture in the ESV but they are coming up in the Message format. I have over 70 verses memorized thanks to your app! Can you please fix this issue?

I absolutely love this app and it has been indispensable to me for several years. HOWEVER, I find that when I want to add a new verse in my preferred version (ESV), it consistently brings up The Message Version. Help! And Thank You!
